Programs for children from 3 years to grade 8

In a classroom where creativity is a virtue, and individual perspectives are encouraged, imagination, and the confidence to apply it, foster a fulfilling educational experience that leads to self-initiated learning, academic rigour, and a capacity for creative thinking.

Behind the increasing demand for Waldorf education lies acknowledgement of a need for schools that equip children to become adults who think outside the box, act independently and react confidently to new situations.

The London Waldorf School began in 1980 and has since grown to offer preschool and kindergarten classes for children from 36 months, and Grades 1 through 8.  The London Waldorf School also offers Parent/Child programs for toddlers and a wide selection of discussion series and workshops.  The school, situated on 3.5 acres of naturalized play area on the Thames River adjacent to the Gibbons Park pedestrian bridge, is an independent, non-sectarian, non-profit, charitable educational organization.  Operated by the faculty and the Board of Trustees and supported by parent committees, the London Waldorf School is a full member of the Waldorf School Association of Ontario and the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America, whose Why Waldorf Works site provides a thorough introduction to Waldorf Education worldwide.

Sunnivue Farm is an certified organic farm located north of London, Ontario, supported by the R.O.S.E. (Redeeming Our Soil Economically) community land trust since 1992.  It follows many of the principles of biodynamic farming developed by Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Waldorf Education.  Waldorf schools and biodynamic farms have always had a special partnership, and the London Waldorf School is very fortunate to have Sunnivue so close by for class visits and delicious fresh food.
