Thank you for your interest in London Waldorf School.

We understand that the process of choosing a school for your child is a significant one in the life of your family, and we are happy to help if you have questions!

London Waldorf School has been established since 1980, and is part of the fastest-growing independent school movement in the world with more than 1000 Waldorf schools in 83 countries. We are fully-accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and a Full Member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN).

We offer licensed toddler, licensed preschool and  kindergarten programs and Grade School education from Grades 1 to 8, as well as a Home Schooling Visitors Day.  The School also offers a Parent & Child program for parents or caregivers to attend with their infants and toddlers, a time to explore the wonder of childhood together.

The unique curriculum at our school is best understood in person. This is why our application process includes tours and time in the classrooms, allowing you to experience our holistic, developmentally appropriate and experiential approach to education first hand.

We invite you to contact us for more information.

Waldorf has become the largest independent, non-denominational education in the world, with over 1,000 schools in 83 countries.

The London Waldorf School's application process, which begins with a school visit is designed to provide an exchange of information so that you can learn more about our programs and we can learn more about your child and family. The Waldorf curriculum is grounded in the knowledge that children have distinct, age-related educational and emotional needs according to their naturally unfolding stages of development.

London Waldorf School is accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), and the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN).

London Waldorf School offers a complete curriculum from our licensed childcare programs through 8th grade.

We accept applications throughout the year for consideration when space becomes available. Interviews may take place at any time, and when space permits, a student may enter the class during the school year as well as at the beginning of September. The entire registration process will generally take a minimum of one week and can take up to three weeks.

STEP ONE: Visit Us

Make an Appointment for a Tour.
Our Windows Into Waldorf: Talk & Tours are held every other Thursday from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. (Pre-registration is required)

Class Visit.
In some cases, in the grade school, parents may wish their child to visit the class for part of the day. Arrangements are made through the teacher, and a visitor’s form is completed and kept in the office.

STEP THREE: Admissions Interview Process

The teacher will phone you to set up an appointment for yourself, the child, the teacher and typically a second teacher. One teacher will meet with the child and the other with the parent(s) and then switch. This process may be adjusted for kindergarten interviews.

STEP FOUR: Acceptance

After the registration interview, the child is presented to the faculty for acceptance at the next faculty meeting. During the summer, children may be accepted by the teacher and registration may continue. The student will be presented to the full faculty once school has begun. Please be aware that your child will not be fully accepted until the successful completion of the probation period which is 3 months in the Grade school and 6 weeks in the Kindergarten.

The Enrolment Coordinator will contact the parents as soon as the faculty have accepted the child and a formal letter of acceptance will be sent.

STEP FIVE: Tuition Agreement

Upon acceptance by the faculty, the Business Office will prepare a tuition agreement and contact the parents to arrange a time to meet to finalize the paperwork. The tuition adjustment process may be entered into at this point if required.  Please note: In order to secure the child's spot in the class, and/or to be eligible for a tuition adjustment, all paperwork, including tuition adjustment forms, must be completed and submitted within three (3) business days of receiving notification that the child has been accepted. Also, the fee adjustment conversation must take place and the contract must be finalized before the child joins the class.

“If you’ve had the experience of binding a book, knitting a sock, playing a recorder, then you feel that you can build a rocket ship – or learn a software program you’ve never touched. It’s not bravado, just a quiet confidence. There is nothing you can’t do. Why couldn’t you? Why couldn’t anybody?”

Peter Nitze
Former Waldorf Student, Harvard Graduate

“Waldorf education draws out the best of qualities in young people – the values they learn provide a lifelong platform from which to grow.”
